The drawing room of John Ruskin’s historic lakeside home, with its unforgettable view overlooking Coniston Water, is the setting for an evening of exquisite French chamber music for winds and piano.
The programme traces a path from the lyrical charm of Lalliet’s Terzetto to the vibrant colours of Elena Kats-Chernin’s Four Light Pieces, the playful wit of Françaix’s Trio, and the pastoral beauty of Bozza’s Fantaisie Pastorale, before concluding with Poulenc’s iconic Trio, full of French flair and sparkling energy.
Performed by a stellar trio of Cumbrian-based artists, this concert promises warmth and virtuosity in a setting that perfectly unites music, art and landscape.
