Mozart Concerto for Flute & Harp in C major, K. 299/297c
Transport yourself back to the era of ‘salon music’ in the music room at Brantwood – a wonderfully warm and intimate setting for an evening of flute and harp music. We open with one of CPE Bach’s masterpieces. His Sonata in G for Flute is written in the lighthearted galant style.
Better known for his cinematic output, it is a rare treat to hear Rota’s Sonata for Flute & Harp, an early neoclassical work, written when Rota was just 26. Mozart’s evergreen Concerto for Flute & Harp is one of the best known double concerti, with the slow movement featuring perhaps one of the most glorious melodies ever written, and a wonderfully exuberant rondo finale.
Book early to avoid disappointment!
